1Family; 1% Better!

The Ki-Be Bears football program is officially back in action as offseason workouts begin this week, marking another important step in the continued growth of our student-athletes and our program as a whole. Offseason workouts are held Tuesday through Friday from 6:15 a.m. to 7:15 a.m. and are open to all student-athletes. While these sessions are designed with football development in mind, any Ki-Be student who wants to get stronger, faster, and more confident is welcome to join us.

The first week of the program, January 27–30, serves as testing week, allowing athletes to establish baselines in key lifts and movements. From there, the following seven weeks are structured using percentages of each athlete’s maxes, with carefully planned sets and reps to ensure safe, intentional, and progressive development. This approach allows every participant—regardless of experience level—to train appropriately while maximizing improvement.

Offseason training is about much more than numbers on a bar. For athletes, these workouts help develop explosiveness, speed, strength, injury resistance, and confidence—qualities that directly translate to performance on the field, court, track, or mat. For non-athletes, the benefits are just as powerful: improved physical health, mental toughness, discipline, stress management, and the confidence that comes from pushing past perceived limits.

Strength training teaches consistency, accountability, and resilience. Showing up early in the morning, putting in work alongside peers, and committing to self-improvement creates habits that extend far beyond athletics and into the classroom and everyday life.

One of the most exciting aspects of this offseason is the energy and motivation within the football program. After completing our first offseason together, players have already seen tangible growth—both physically and mentally. Increased strength, improved movement, and a greater understanding of how to train with purpose have fueled buy-in across the roster. That progress has created momentum, and the excitement heading into this next phase has been impossible to miss.

Athletes are arriving eager to compete, encourage one another, and raise the standard. That mindset shift—believing in the process and trusting the work—is a clear sign that the program is moving in the right direction.

One of the greatest impacts of offseason workouts is the camaraderie they create. Training together in the early mornings builds trust, unity, and shared purpose. Teammates push one another through tough sets, celebrate small wins, and learn to rely on each other long before Friday nights arrive. Those shared experiences form the foundation of strong team chemistry and lasting relationships.

This environment is intentional. The weight room is where leadership emerges, accountability is reinforced, and culture is built one rep at a time.

1Family; 1% Better!

At the heart of everything we do is the Bears’ motto: “1Family; 1% Better!” Offseason workouts are a daily reminder of what that means. We train together as one family, supporting one another through challenges while striving to improve just a little each day. Over time, those small improvements add up—to stronger athletes, closer teams, and a program rooted in pride, effort, and togetherness.

The offseason is where championships are truly built, and we’re just getting started.
